Since 1995, Holocaust Museum of Houston has sponsored “The Butterfly Project”, an educational study program designed to teach young people about the experiences of 1.5 million children who perished during the Holocaust.

Schools around the world participated with creativity and compassion.  Students of all ages and backgrounds created hundreds of thousands of hand crafted butterflies, each one representing a precious child’s life lost.

One and a half million butterflies have been collected and will now be part of one of the most important and impactful art exhibits ever: 1.5 million expressions of hope and remembrance.

And 1.5 million reasons to sponsor this extraordinary exhibit.

Holocaust Museum Houston plans to share this exceptional Butterfly Project exhibit with our community during our 20th anniversary celebration, March 2016 through March 2017. The exhibit will be on tour throughout Houston at high visibility locations. The exhibit will continue until it becomes a permanent exhibit at the Museum.
